    • The only way to get annihilation from your Advertisement to O365 is to utilize a sync process. Dirsync, AADSync, AAD Connect.

Any of those should be bachelor for whatever O365 level y'all take. Once the sync is done your Advert groups will be available for Sharepoint online.

Where are you seeing that you need a premium service?

      Welcome to Spiceworks!

Ok, I meet what you're saying, I read that sentence also fast. But still, how can he have local security groups without local AD?

    • Deplorable but i exercise have a local AD. That is not the trouble. I have the outcome that for some reason my local Advertizement group cannot be used to ready permissions in SharePoint online. I constitute this link:

      https://customs.office365.com/en-usa/f/613/t/419342

Which is telling me that every local security group is being transformed into a security group. This does non appears to happen, but i am not certain.

For the rest i am likewise been told about the dynamic groups. When i login to Azure AD to encounter my LOCAL AD groups and i desire to configure them, information technology tells me to buy the premium part. I besides establish some links nearly this.

I am looking farther and what i call up is that we tin can utilize AD groups, simply we should add together them to SP groups or utilize dynamic groups in Azure Advertizing.

      Ill test the setup below:
Users ==> Agile Directory Groups ==> SharePoint Groups

    • Yous are right gerrit zwart, Azure Advertising Sync will create distribution group. If you don't want to practise the transmission process of adding the new user to SharePoint Groups, you tin can use dynamic groups. Yep, for that you need to purchase Azure Advertising premium license.

    • Cheers a lot for confirming! I will work with information technology in some other ways! Simply giving permissions to the SharePoint folders directly, without groups nested in other groups. In that fashion i promise to make it piece of work. Otherwise ill use Sharepoint Groups in that instance.

    • There is a bug in SharePoint Function 365, sometimes when you add AAD group to your SP group, members, still don%u2019t accept appropriate access.

So, to prepare it add AAD group as a permission level, check the site permission for the user in that group, it should tell you that he has two the same permissions coming from permission level and SP group, remove the permission level yous created earlier, that will solve the problem.

    •  Active Directory is Advertizing, what is AAD?

AND, " to fix information technology add together AAD group equally a permission level" What exactly does this mean? What permission level?

      Thanks in Accelerate

AAD = Azure Active Directory. Basically he'due south saying to select an AAD grouping, give that group admission permissions to the site or library, and and then add the users to the AAD grouping.

      If I'm interpreting correctly.

    • Thanks for yous quick response. I'yard learning SharePoint Online.

For SharePoint Online, I'm a SharePoint Admin, not the Global Admin. So I would have to have my Global Admin exercise that, right?

      Marie

IIRC, it's actually the opposite. Global admins are more responsible for the back-end stuff, by default I don't recollect they even have admission to the information in the site.

But as a Site (I'thousand guessing that's what you mean past 'Sharepoint Admin' ) admin, y'all have admission to the information and control the permissions to that data. If you can create libraries and sites - you lot tin can control the access.

As a tip, when you practice create a site, SP will ask you lot if y'all desire new user groups incorporating the site proper name, or if you just desire to use default groups. Always have the new grouping names. Decision-making access to multiple sites with only a few default groups is all but incommunicable.

    • So what is going on is that I created a new grouping in HR for Managers  with read permission. My HR admin added new folder with content for managers and nosotros wanted to permit all the managers know. When attempting to send an e-mail to all in the group, using the group in the "Share" function would not allow "nested group" to ship the bulletin to all managers. When using the "invite" information technology was non listing all the managers.  Is this where I post this or so I start a new post?

And yes, start a new topic. Y'all'll definitely get a lot more attending that way. Welcome to Spiceworks, btw!
